Language d’amour considers the desire to overcome the boundary between self and other. It asks whether intimacy is a form of surrender: the wish to be completely known, to dissolve into another person, and to momentarily undo the distinction between two bodies. Love becomes a negotiation between individuality and union, between the desire to transcend separation and an awareness of its impossibility.
